  4. NAVIGATION COMMANDS: Move  the  Cursor  with the  ARROW KEYS, <PgUp>, <PgDn>,
  5.                      <Home>, <End>;  Go to  THE  first  Record:  <Ctrl+PgUp>;
  6.                      last  Record:  <Ctrl+PgDn>;   Go  to  THE  first  Field:
  7.                      <Ctrl+Home>;  last  Field:  <Ctrl+End>.

  9. SEARCH FOR A STRING: Search  String:  <Alt+F> + String + <CR>; Repeat Search:

  12. dBLOOKUP:            Move the cursor to a field linked to a DBF File  (marked
  13.                      with  an  *).  Press   <F2>   to  invoke  the  dBLOOKUP
  14.                      option.  dBLOOKUP  works  only  if  the  file  has  been
  15.                      prepared accordingly.

  17.                      A  file  is  prepared  for  dBLOOKUP  using  the command
  18.                      sequence U,R,M and  entering a Y character for the field
  19.                      for which a  dBLOOKUP  link is required. The DBF File to
  20.                      be linked to each Field marked with Y must be entered.

  22.                      To enter information in a file called with dBLOOKUP (F2)
  23.                      press <F3> which is a toggle key for activating/desacti-
  24.                      vating the edit function. This works only with the first
  25.                      file called with dBLOOKUP from the main file, and in all
  26.                      Data-Table modes.

  28. EXTERNAL FILES:      This method is recommended for linking free text with a
  29.                      DBF file, instead of using memo fields. The link has to
  30.                      be done over a character field. To indicate that a link
  31.                      to an external ASCII file is being defined, you have to
  32.                      enter as the first character a percent sign (%), follo-
  33.                      wed by the path and the file name.  These external file
  34.                      can be shared with other application programs.

  36. MEMO FIELDS:         To open a MEMO field press the '+' key.
  37.  
  38. MOVE TO DATA ENTRY   If you want to change fast to the Data  Entry mode  for
  39.                      editing a record shown in the Fast Find Data-Table, you
  40.                      have to move the cursor on the desired record and press
  41.                      <Alt+E>.From the Zoom-In format,showing just one record,
  42.                      you can get  the  Data-Table  with  the  cursor  on the
  43.                      desired record by pressing "any key" followed by <PgDn>.

  45. DIALING:             Move  the  cursor  to  a  field  containing  a  valid
  46.                      telephone number and  press  D.  For  that  you  must
  47.                      have a modem  installed  and  have runned  previously
  48.                      the program INSDIAL.COM, wich comes with STAFF.
